FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How is AudioTend delivered?

AudioTend is a digital software product. After completing your purchase, you will receive access to the AudioTend download electronically.

No physical product is shipped.

Do I need an internet connection to use AudioTend?

AudioTend's core audio-processing workflow runs locally on your Mac.

Your source audio does not need to be uploaded to AudioTend servers in order to convert files, edit metadata, apply UCS naming, or verify deliveries.

Does AudioTend modify my original files?

AudioTend is designed to leave your source files untouched and write converted output separately.

As with any professional media workflow, we strongly recommend keeping verified backups of important or irreplaceable source material.

Which Macs are supported?

AudioTend supports both Intel Macs and Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 13 Ventura or later.

Can I use AudioTend professionally?

Yes.

AudioTend is designed for professional and personal sound-effects workflows, including sound design, field recording, post-production, game audio, music, media production, and sound-library preparation.

Your use of the software is subject to the AudioTend Software License Agreement.

Does AudioTend support UCS naming?

Yes.

AudioTend includes UCS-compatible naming tools for professional sound-effects workflows, including its built-in UCS Assist system.

Does AudioTend support professional metadata?

Yes.

AudioTend supports professional sound-effects metadata workflows, including supported BWF/BEXT and iXML metadata fields, as well as standard metadata where applicable.

Can AudioTend create metadata reports?

Yes.

AudioTend can inspect delivered metadata and provide metadata reporting tools. It can also export spreadsheet manifests for supported workflows.

What happens if another application displays metadata differently?

Different audio applications, databases, and asset-management systems may interpret or display metadata differently.

AudioTend writes supported metadata according to its supported workflow, but we cannot guarantee that every third-party application will display every metadata field identically.

Are AudioTend 1.x updates included?

Yes.

Updates released as part of the AudioTend 1.x series are included for licensed AudioTend 1.x users.

Future major versions, such as AudioTend 2.0, may be offered separately.

Can I install AudioTend on more than one Mac?

Unless your purchase terms state otherwise, an AudioTend license is intended for one user and may be installed on Macs owned or controlled by that user.

Organizations should obtain an appropriate license for each person who directly uses the software.

Please see the AudioTend Software License Agreement for full licensing terms.

What is your refund policy?

Because AudioTend is downloadable software delivered electronically, purchases are generally final once digital delivery has begun, except where a refund is required by applicable law or where another remedy applies.

Please see the Refund Policy on the AudioTend website for full details.

I accidentally purchased AudioTend twice. What should I do?

macOS is showing an error when I try to open AudioTend. What should I do?

Please send us the exact message shown by macOS, together with your macOS version and Mac model if known.
